Entering data for a new food—Exercise 5

Aim: To develop and demonstrate skill in entering data for a new food into the FoodChoices® database.
Follow the steps in Procedure 5 to add the following data for the new commercial four-bean mix to the database:

Healthy Four-Bean Mix

Nutrition information per serve size (75 g)

Energy 395 kJ
Protein 5.8 g
Total fat 0.2 g
Saturated fat 0.2 g
Total Carbohydrate 14.2 g
Sugars 1.7 g
Dietary fibre 7 mg
Sodium 7 mg
Potassium 225 mg
  1. To start

    Start FoodChoices®.

  2. Create a new food.

    Name your food ‘Healthy Four-Bean Mix’ in a new folder called ‘Supermarket foods’.

  3. Enter the nutrient composition data.

    Enter the data for the serving size of 75 g.

  4. Save the data for the food.
